What might consulting become next?

a 90-minute workshop to create a collective map of where the consulting field is now, what is already changing, and what more desirable futures of consulting might look like

at Systems Thinking in Practice: Berlin - Si Berlin Hub Conference 2026

12 Nov 2026 • HTW-Berlin
Having worked in consulting for the past few years, we at resense360 have been noticing some developments that feel particularly relevant to reflect on right now:
  • Shifting expectations of consulting
Much consulting has historically supported growth, efficiency, and competitiveness. What does “good consulting” look like in a context of climate crisis, inequality, resource constraints, and demand for new economic models?
  • The changing value of human expertise in the age of AI
At the core of consulting are research, analysis, and synthesis, which can increasingly be automated today. What is the value of a human in the process? What space is there for disruption, discomfort, experimentation, failure, and learning?
  • Engaging with multiple ways of knowing
Western management theories are still very present in our work. What other ways of knowing and working might we learn from and how would our practice change?
  • Rethinking how we want to work
Beyond client outcomes and revenue, what makes our work rewarding for us? What gives us energy and supports our well-being?
Join this 90-minute workshop to create a collective map of where the consulting field is now, what is already changing, and what more desirable futures of consulting might look like. The workshop is based on Bill Sharpe’s Three Horizons framework.
We welcome different perspectives in the room — independent consultants, people from larger firms, facilitators, strategists, systems practitioners, and clients of consulting.
